Project Manager - Capital Delivery £50k - £60k + excellent benefits package. Exeter Are you an experienced Project Manager looking to play a key role in delivering critical infrastructure projects that improve services, communities and the environment? Our client is a major asset owner investing significantly in its capital programme and is seeking a driven Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of engineering and infrastructure projects from concept through to completion. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has developed their career within a contracting environment and has subsequently moved into consultancy, client-side delivery or programme management. Candidates with strong pre-construction experience will be highly regarded. The Role You'll be responsible for leading projects through the full project lifecycle, managing scope, cost, schedule, risk and stakeholder engagement whilst ensuring the highest standards of safety, governance and commercial performance. Working closely with designers, contractors, operational stakeholders and senior client representatives, you'll ensure projects move successfully from feasibility and design through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover. What We're Looking For
Proven experience delivering infrastructure, utilities, civil engineering or major construction projects. Strong pre-construction knowledge including optioneering, design development, risk management and procurement strategy. Experience administering NEC contracts and managing commercial performance. Excellent stakeholder engagement and client management skills. Ability to challenge constructively and drive decisions in complex environments. Strong budget, reporting and programme management capabilities. A tenacious, resilient individual who can maintain momentum and overcome obstacles. Experience working for a contractor, consultancy or client organisation delivering capital programmes.
Ideal Candidate You are commercially aware, confident in front of clients and comfortable navigating multiple stakeholders with competing priorities. You have the credibility to influence senior decision-makers, hold delivery partners to account and drive projects forward when challenges arise. Key Responsibilities
Manage capital projects from inception through to completion. Lead project planning, delivery and governance activities. Manage consultants, contractors and framework partners. Own project budgets, forecasting and cost control. Manage programme risks and opportunities. Ensure compliance with regulatory, health & safety and quality standards. Coordinate commissioning, handover and project close-out activities. Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
