Role: Art and Design Lecturer Location: West Yorkshire Type: Temporary - Full Time Rate: £25 - £35 per hour Eden Brown Education is recruiting for an enthusiastic and creative Art and Design Lecturer on behalf of a successful Further Education College in West Yorkshire. The role is full time temporary to start asap for ongoing cover, This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant curriculum area, delivering Pearson Art and Design qualifications at Level 2 and Level 3 Year 2. The successful candidate will inspire learners to develop their creative, practical and critical thinking skills while supporting them to achieve outstanding outcomes and progress to higher education or employment within the creative industries. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching across Level 2 and Level 3 Art and Design programmes.
- Plan and deliver engaging practical and theoretical lessons that meet awarding body requirements.
- Assess student work and provide constructive feedback to support learner progress and achievement.
- Prepare learners for internal and external assessment and portfolio submission.
- Support students with creative project development, research and experimentation.
- Monitor attendance, progress and achievement, implementing interventions where required.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality assurance and curriculum development activities.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A relevant degree or higher qualification in Art, Design or a related subject.
- Experience teaching Art and Design within a Further Education, Sixth Form or other 16+ educational setting.
- Experience delivering Pearson Art and Design qualifications.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary art and design practice.
- Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
- The ability to motivate and inspire learners from a range of backgrounds and abilities.
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent) is desirable.
