Overview:
We are currently seeking a Construction Material Technician to join our team at Aughnacliffe Quarry, Co Longford.
As a Construction Material Technician, you will be responsible for efficiently and effectively assisting in the quality assurance of quarrying and surfacing products. To conduct onsite and offsite materials testing and update electronic records.

To test and sample aggregate, bituminous and unbound and earthworks materials including grading analysis, binder content and physical, chemical and mechanical testing in a safe and efficient manner, both in the laboratory and on contracting sites/plant. To conduct daily organoleptic checks for lab, production facilities and all stockpiles To maintain a safe and tidy workspace and ensure the efficient running of the laboratory To maintain quality standards by following Company and accrediting bodies quality procedures and protocol. To record sample details on test record sheets and laboratory software. To calibrate all testing equipment. To prepare for inspections from independent accrediting bodies To undertake daily laboratory equipment checks To investigate all material related complaints & provide suitable & sufficient feedback & evidence to support. To assist operational staff in daily quarry and depot activities To provide technical cover for other contracts within UK & Ireland.
What we need from you! Essential Criteria
Good level of literacy & numeracy, previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential. Experience of working in a team environment, providing information and support to colleagues Ability to be flexible in working hours, working night shifts or weekends if required Computer literacy, knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Excel Driving licence to enable the post holder to fulfil the duties of the role Ability to carry out sampling of aggregates, concrete and asphalt, which involves manual handling and working in an outdoor operational environment.
