Senior Electrical Engineer
Our client, a leader in the engineering sector, is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team. This permanent role focuses on electrical engineering within the distribution, transmission, renewables, and T&D industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical Design
Perform and manage the development of electrical EPC and ICP system designs from preliminary to detailed status Conduct steady state, dynamic and grid code compliance studies Select appropriate electrical components, equipment, and materials Ensure compliance with engineering design packages Align electrical and civil design interfaces Resolve complex technical design issues and act as a primary electrical design authority
Leadership
Manage and support in-house electrical design resources and external contractors Provide mentorship and technical guidance Review and approve electrical design outputs Support training and development of team members
Commercial, Tendering & Procurement Support
Provide technical input during tendering to develop preliminary electrical designs Support the development of tender pricing Define key equipment specifications with the Procurement Department Prepare scopes of work for subcontractors/vendors and support tender evaluation
Job Requirements:
Experience in ICP, electrical engineering, electrical design, and electrical Knowledge of UK Grid Code, network operator standards, and applicable UK design standards and regulations Proficiency with electrical system modelling software (DigSilent, PSCAD) and CAD software Understanding of MS Project, Excel, and Word Ability to manage and resolve complex electrical design issues Effective communication and collaboration abilities Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Full driving licence
